Security Mentor’s engaging, interactive, rich media lessons are created in Flash and instructionally designed to increase retention by creating memorable experiences through the use of real-world situations, stories, problem-solving, and serious games. Lesson content is relevant to the workplace and developed by CISA and CISSP certified information security professionals.
Web-based training can be accessed when and where it is most convenient for employees and employers, increasing participation and reducing costs. The impact of employee turnover on security is reduced; new hires can begin the training at any time.
How Our Training Works
Security Mentor training is available on a per seat subscription basis, accessed from Security Mentor’s website using a web browser.
Each week employees receive an email message from Security Mentor, containing a link to login to the current training module on the Security Mentor website. Each Lesson takes around seven minutes to complete. Lessons contain serious games or other interactions which not only engage employees, but measure learning. From their account, employees are able to access current and past security lessons, view training status, and access resources and services.
The Security Mentor learning management system tracks and measures each employee’s progress through the lessons, enabling managers to confirm that employees received the information – and learned it. Managers can view reports on employee training at varying levels of detail: company, group, down to individual employee performance.
Limited customization of content for company-specific information security policies is supported. New modules can be added quickly to the training program in response to the changing security threat landscape. Lesson completion due dates can be globally set as well as automatic email reminders to employees with past due lessons.
